CVA’s Mission

At this stage of our development, our mission is to secure funds to remodel our new building located at 1157 Acushnet Ave. New Bedford, MA 02746. We wish to invite and gather Capeverdean citizens and their friends, local, from other states and abroad, community activists, and volunteers, private and state organizations, and institutions at large, to join, and support us in our great endeavor. We perceive that citizens involvement in each step is the essential key to resources and to the success in the rebuilding and renewal of the Cape Verdean Association in New Bedford, which will be known as The CVA~NB.

CVA~NB will be here to serve the greater new bedford community through educational materials, events, and programs that promote healthy lifestyles for our wellbeing and the advancement of Individuals and Family to help everyone become more successful members of our society. CVA’s array of educational services is rooted in a deep understanding of the social and cultural issues affecting New Bedford families. These services will provide families with the opportunity for developing better relationships with their children, their peers, friends, community, and to also develop communication skills, which they can apply in every aspect of their life.
